I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
