The anticipation surrounding The Game Awards has been intense, notably after host Geoff Keighley posted a puzzling photo of a strange statue. The question is finally answered. Larian Studios is developing a brand-new Divinity game.
Titled simply Divinity, the game was showcased with a bold trailer packed with intense imagery, from a figure engulfed in flames to scenes of revelry and the literal descent into chaos.
A Different Direction
Anyone anticipating Divinity Original Sin 3, that is not happening. Larian clarified that a third Original Sin game to its critically acclaimed RPGs is not currently in development.
That said, the developer described this new Divinity as a continuation of the main series. This distinction implies that the team could be building a more action-oriented experience as opposed to another tactical title. At this moment, it remains theory, as only a teaser video is available.

The Divinity series is widely praised and arguably it sparked the modern wave of complex computer role-playing games. These games are celebrated for rich lore, player agency, and flexible progression—qualities that later were perfected in games like Baldur's Gate 3.
